ER, a long running medical drama begins its second season on 9-21-1995 with the episode entitled ‘Welcome Back, Carter!’. After the end of season 1 and before the beginning of season 2, John Carter was assumed to leave Chicago County but he remains on the staff as a surgical sub-intern. As the season begins, the whole ER staff is dealing with the victims of a gang shootout. Carter will join the staff with a new position so arrives late. Later on this season, Carter may be following the examples of his sexually supercharged colleagues by getting in a love triangle. Dr. Peter Benton develops a relationship with divorcee Jeanie Boulet. As we saw in the season 1, Head Nurse Carol Hathaway was left standing at altar by her fiancée so she begins developing feelings for Ray “Shep’” Shepard. Dr. Susan Lewis is caring for her irresponsible sis Chloe’s babe Suzy. Season two also introduced Laura Innes as Dr. Kerry Weaver. Dr. Ross faces dismissal due to his irregular behavior. As the season comes to an end, Shep goes over the edge after he loses his paramedic partner is killed in a fire. Season finale ‘John Carter, MD” was aired on 5-16-1996. Jeanie goes through an HIV test and informs Beston he should get himself tested as well. In the season ending cliffhanger, Benton finds out that Jeanie’s former hubby has infected her with HIV virus.

It’s a very busy night at hospital and Weaver, Lewis and Ross are all unavailable. Greene has been working overtime for the last four days. Susan meets with her new lawyer.
