Steve liked Noah’s work so much so, that he invited him to the Macworld Convention held in New York, where Steve wanted Noah to open the convention dressed as Steve and kick-off the show. Noah was more than obliged to do so, and gave a perfectly hilarious opening to the convention.

To think of it, the Apple co-founder is a huge source of inspiration for millions, and he indeed redefined the word ‘geek’.

Unfortunately, the medical drama bid farewell to its audience in 2009, Julianna continues to enrapture her fans with her on-air show, The Good Wife.

In a poster meant to spread the word about the upcoming season of the show, we see Ms. Marguiles turning into a seductress, with her black dressing gown revealing cleavage, hinting of some risqué business out there!

Goodness gracious that her eyes were closed, or else few men would have to be rushed to hospital, complaining of hyperventilation!

While the Nurse Carol Hathaway had to be pinion-like character, taking care that a doctor doesn’t trip over a tripod, her real-life self gets into the skin of the character in a suggestively racy way!

But then, that’s the reason why we adore her so much, for when she intends to convey something, it is often done in a brazenly way!

Though she succumbed to the womanizing effort of Dr. Doug Ross in ER, it seems that her vindictive self is all set to cause heartburn among the male fraternity this time around!

After 15 inspirational years, 124 Emmy Award nominations and 23 Emmy Awards and countless other honors, keeping the millions of international viewers entertained with a whopping 331 episodes, one would expect the answer to be an overwhelming yes.

But in the case of the medical drama somberly named as ER, the answer is no, according to the overwhelming majority. No, ardent viewers of ER, like the author, would never claim to be satisfied by the series ending, but yes, the fans do appreciate the way it ended.

There was no emotional melodrama, no brouhaha over any happy or tragic endings for the doctors and the staff at the County General Hospital; it was just another day at work in the very last episode.

Right from its humble beginnings in 1994, ER has somehow managed to retain the air of dexterity that it had in the initial stages, throughout the years and kept it until the very end.

And the show even managed to keep its viewers busy with the tales of the Emergency Room and the stories that went far beyond its steely confines.

In a way, it has been primetime television’s response to the daytime programming’s behemoth of medical dramas, General Hospital.

But ER has always been very different from other medical dramas in a number of aspects, especially with Emergency Room as the centerpiece of the whole storyline.

The room where people die or live by the hands of their doctors and surgeons, the room where many claim to be reborn, while others claim to see the White Light or even Jesus Christ himself – the Emergency Room.

The way the show took up the supposed morbid aspects of a medical drama and spun them around on its axis and interweaved a complex web of interpersonal dynamics between staff and the doctors, and between the patients and the doctors, was nearly a classic.

The result was nothing short of sometimes dark, sometimes heart-touching but real moments, most of the time. And we can still catch the ER episodes, time and again, to relive the tense drama.

How about both? Well, it’s a tough choice! Considering, we have had shows like the still running show from the 60s, General Hospital, and today we have shows featuring an idiosyncratic antihero like Dr. House, it’s hard to pinpoint ER as the best.

However, it is one of the best, if not the best medical drama.  It’s actually the show that put the lives of the doctors as well as the nurses, on the forefront and under the scrutiny of the common people.

Apart from changing the way people perceived doctors, it opened up the previously restricted confines of the Emergency Room to the eyes of the ordinary viewer.

And to this, the viewers reacted with amazement, as they were able to witness firsthand, the nitty-gritty realities of modern-day temples of healing; the hospitals.

There might have some sort of exaggerations on the part of the writers, especially when it came to dealing with the daily complications happening in the Emergency Room. But no one can deny the pressures of playing God, where a single move could save or end a life.

They glamorized it, but at the same time, the show added different layers to each character and hence, added oodles of appeal to the supposed mundane ER routines.

Characters like Dr. Greene, Dr. Eric Benton and Dr. Doug Ross have become memorable, and the best part of ER was the way it portrayed the nurses.
Everybody still remembers Nurse Carol and her antics!

One can go on and on, blabbering about the millions of small things that make ER click like no other show.
